The Halimah Trust was created in 2008 to carry out the charity work that Halimah ahmed was so committed to.
The aims of The Halimah Trust are to:
1) Working with established international registered charities, focussing on projects that include:
- The advancement of education
- Provision of clean and safe drinking water
- Economic development in Third World countries
- Support for Orphans
- Health projects
2) The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by:
- The elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religion
- Promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds
- Cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity
- Promoting peace and interfaith dialogue
The first project which The Halimah Trust is working on is The Halimah School of Excellence in Wazirabad, Pakistan for orphan and needy girls.
